Biography

Daniel Mulder is an Assistant Professor at Queen's University and a pediatric gastroenterologist and molecular biologist. He completed his MD and PhD at Queen's University in 2015 and 2011, respectively. After his residency in pediatrics at McMaster University, he furthered his expertise by joining the pediatric gastroenterology clinical fellowship program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Mulder completed a CIHR-funded postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Aleixo Muise, where he focused on translational computational approaches to genomic analysis in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease. His research interests lie in investigating inflammation in children using large clinical datasets and molecular biology experimental techniques. He utilizes bioinformatics techniques and R programming language to construct machine learning models, which help uncover new insights in pediatric gastroenterology.
