Biography

Daniel Nadeau is a full professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Water Engineering at Laval University since 2015. His expertise focuses on cold region hydrology, specifically on evaporation, accumulation, and snowmelt. His research aims to better understand hydrological processes in order to support the development of terrestrial surface models used in meteorological and climatic modeling. Professor Nadeau has extensive experience in measuring water and energy exchanges between the land surface and the atmosphere in northern reservoirs, lakes, boreal forests, deserts, alpine environments, peatlands, and the Arctic. He has numerous collaborations across Canada, Europe, and the United States. Since 2022, he has been the director of the undergraduate program in water engineering, a unique program in Quebec.
