Biography

Daniel Oviedo Hernandez is an Associate Professor at the Development Planning Unit of University College London. He holds a PhD in Development Planning and has a master's degree in Transport Planning and a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. With 14 years of experience as a researcher and lecturer, he has specialized in urban transport issues, particularly focusing on social, economic, and spatial analysis of inequalities related to urban transport policies in developing countries. His work includes consultancy projects in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, advising national governments in Colombia, Peru, Panama, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone, as well as international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank on transport planning, social equity, and sustainability. Daniel is also the founder of the International Network for Transport Low-Income Communities (INTALInC) and is involved in several UCL initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive mobility. Currently, he leads the Way to School project, which focuses on enhancing access to education through improved transport solutions.
