Biography

Daniel Rubio, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Yale School of Medicine. He serves as the Co-Medical Director of the Spine Center at Yale New Haven Hospital and holds the position of Associate Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. He earned his Medical Doctorate from Drexel University, where he graduated as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, and he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Rubio furthered his expertise with a fellowship in Combined Neurosurgery/Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and completed the AO North America Spine Fellowship. He is actively involved in clinical and basic science research, focusing on optimizing patient outcomes. His research contributions and collaborations have been presented at various regional, national, and international conferences. Dr. Rubio is committed to a patient-centered approach, whether through surgical or non-surgical means, to help patients return to a pain-free and active lifestyle. He operates at both the Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale Spine Center in New Haven, as well as in Guilford and Old Saybrook locations.
