Biography

Daniel Scamman is a Senior Research Associate at the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy & Resources at University College London. He is a member of the BSEER and has extensive experience in modelling for UCL's UK global models, including UKTM and TIAM-UCL. His research interests focus on identifying secure and equitable pathways for sustainable energy systems, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors. Scamman has been involved in projects addressing energy storage, the role of hydrogen, and heat decarbonisation. He previously worked on the Lancet Countdown regarding climate change and health, emphasizing economics and finance. Scamman holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and has experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Corus R&D and as a Systems Engineer at CMR Fuel Cells. He also worked as a Senior Energy Systems Analyst at ITM Power, focusing on electrolyser development.
