Biography

Dr. Schrage became a professor in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech in 1984 and served as Director of the Center of Excellence in Rotorcraft Technology (CERT) from 1986. He initiated the graduate program in Aerospace Systems Design and started the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL) in 1992. In 1997, he became Director of the Center for Aerospace Systems Engineering (CASE), overseeing ASDL and the newly formed Space Systems Design Laboratory (SSDL). Dr. Schrage established the Integrated Product Lifecycle Engineering (IPLE) Laboratory in 2007. He has extensive expertise in the design and development of complex systems, having served for ten years in the U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command (AVSCOM) prior to joining Georgia Tech. Dr. Schrage was involved as a dynamics and vibrations engineer, contributing to major aviation systems including the UH-60 Black Hawk and AH-64 Apache. Additionally, he has authored and co-authored more than 200 technical publications in fields such as dynamics, aeroelasticity, flight mechanics and controls, and aerospace systems design. He is a Fellow of the AHS and AIAA and a member of the American Society for Engineering Educators.
