Dr. Daniel Sokol

Biography

D. Daniel Sokol holds the Carolyn Craig Franklin Chair at USC Gould School of Law and is a Professor of Law and Business. He also serves as an Affiliate Professor at the Marshall School of Business, with a courtesy appointment in the Department of Economics. Professor Sokol is the faculty director of the Center for Transnational Law and Business and co-director of the USC Marshall Initiative on Digital Competition. He is a part-time Senior Advisor at White & Case LLP. Over the past five years, he has been recognized as one of the top 10 cited antitrust law professors. His scholarship focuses on complex business issues faced by early-stage startups and multinational corporations, particularly regarding antitrust, data breaches, corporate governance, digital platforms, compliance, innovation, M&A, digital transformation, and global business regulation. He is a member of the American Law Institute and serves as an academic advisor to the United States Chamber of Commerce and as a non-governmental advisor to the International Competition Network.
