Biography

Daniel Stockemer holds the Konrad Adenauer Research Chair in Empirical Democracy Studies and is a Full Professor at the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. His main research interests include political participation, political representation, populism, and quantitative and qualitative research methods. Since becoming a professor in 2010, Dr. Stockemer has published three single-author books, three edited volumes, and a textbook, as well as over 140 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is also recognized for his editorial commitments, serving as editor for the International Political Science Review, the flagship journal of the International Political Science Association, and for the Springer Book Series on Electoral Politics. His publications often explore themes such as the gender gap in voter turnout and the implications of online voting on representation. Additionally, he supervises graduate students engaged in significant research projects related to his fields of expertise.
