Biography

Daniel Truhn is a physicist and imaging scientist specializing in the application of machine learning techniques to medical imaging. He leads an interdisciplinary research group at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen, focused on integrating advanced deep learning methods into clinical practice, particularly in oncology and musculoskeletal imaging. His research involves the development of multimodal fusion algorithms to combine diverse clinical information sources, aiming to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes for patients. Truhn's work encompasses generative models and large language models, as well as the creation of AI-aided diagnostic tools integrated into clinical workflows. He earned his MD from RWTH Aachen University in 2013 and became a board-certified clinical radiologist in 2019. His academic credentials include studying physics at RWTH Aachen and Imperial College London, highlighting a strong foundation in both the computational and clinical aspects of radiology.
