Dr. Daniel Varro

Biography

Daniel Varro is a professor at Linköping University in Sweden and serves as the Head of Unit. His research primarily focuses on design assurance for critical software-intensive cyber-physical systems, model-based systems engineering, quality assurance, and machine learning. Varro is a full professor at Linköping University and an adjunct professor at McGill University in Canada. He has previously held a professorship (on leave) at Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Hungary. He has significant involvement in the academic community as the vice chair of the Steering Committee for the IEEE/ACM MODELS conference and serves on the editorial board of the Software Systems Modeling journal. Varro has participated in multiple program committees for significant conferences including FASE, ICMT, SLE, and MODELS. His contributions to the field have been recognized through several awards, including the Distinguished Paper award at major international conferences. He is also a co-founder of IncQuery Labs and open source software projects such as the VIATRA model query transformation framework and the MASSIF integration framework for Matlab. Varro has supervised numerous PhD students, contributing significantly to the growth of the next generation of engineers in his field.
