Biography

Daniel Weber is an Assistant Professor at Chalmers University, specializing in Energy Materials within the field of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. He graduated from the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany, where he conducted significant research on solid-state and nano-molecular chemistry. Following his graduation, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow under Professor J. E. Goldberger at The Ohio State University in the USA, supported by the German Science Foundation. After completing his fellowship, he returned to Europe to join the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology as a research associate. In September 2023, Daniel established his independent research group at Chalmers University, where he leads the initiative as part of the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability. His research focuses on the development and blending of novel metastable inorganic layered materials for energy storage and conversion applications.
