Daniel Whittaker is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Prior to joining SUTD, he served as the Owner’s Representative for pre-planning, design, and construction of a new private museum in Chicago, Illinois, known as Wrightwood 659, which involved designing a contemporary art space within an existing 1930s-era brick masonry shell. His work necessitated extensive project planning and coordination, particularly in relation to Tadao Ando Architect Associates in Osaka, Japan. At SUTD, Whittaker is involved in the Architectural Information Management and Sustainable Design Science areas, having co-curated the inaugural exhibition titled “Masters of Architecture.” This exhibition delves into architectural dialogues between the works of Le Corbusier and Tadao Ando's designs for American museums, viewed through an archival lens. Whittaker holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
