Biography

Daniela Richterova is a Senior Lecturer in Intelligence Studies at the Department of War Studies, King's College London. Her research and teaching focus on Cold War intelligence and contemporary issues related to state-based threats and counterterrorism. Dr. Richterova is the director of the MA in Intelligence and International Security and co-director of the King’s Centre for the Study of Intelligence. She also co-convenes the Cambridge Intelligence Seminar and teaches a specialist course in International Security and Intelligence as part of the Cambridge Security Initiative. An accomplished researcher, Dr. Richterova is a co-investigator on a UKRI-funded research grant titled ‘Transformation of Transatlantic Counter-Terrorism, 2001-2025’. She has presented her work at prestigious institutions such as Harvard University and Columbia University and has a history of involvement in academic and practitioner forums focusing on intelligence and international security. Before joining King's, she held a Senior Lecturer position at Brunel University London. Daniela completed her PhD at the University of Warwick, following an MA in War Studies from King’s College London and undergraduate studies in Politics and International Relations at Comenius University in Bratislava and New York University. Additionally, Dr. Richterova has professional experience working with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels and has organized high-level conferences related to international security policy.
