Born in Santiago, Chile, Daniela Rivera is a Lecturer in Art and Painting at the College of Fine Arts at Boston University. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 1996 and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston in 2006. Currently a Professor of Studio Art at Wellesley College, Rivera has exhibited her work widely in Latin American cities and throughout the United States. She has participated in numerous artist residencies, including the Headlands Center for the Arts, Surf Point, Proyecto ACE in Buenos Aires, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Her recent and upcoming exhibitions include 'Donde el Cielo Toca La Tierra' at Matucana 100 in Santiago, Chile (2024), 'Knowledge Local Practice' with the San Francisco Art Commission (2024), and 'Labored Landscapes' at the Fitchburg Art Museum. She is engaged with public art projects, including 'Sobremesa (Karaoke Politics)', developed through an Accelerator Fellowship in Boston.
