Biography

Daniela Senkl is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, University of Guelph. Her research primarily focuses on corporate reporting and sustainability, with particular attention to the environmental impacts and community well-being aspects of accounting. Daniela employs critical theories, including feminist perspectives, to explore how accounting is influenced by and shapes societal structures. Daniela is actively engaged in academic scholarship and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal, as well as the Editorial Board for the Social and Environmental Accountability Journal. She has contributed to various publications addressing issues related to sustainability and accounting, emphasizing the importance of integrating different perspectives into accounting practices. Her teaching philosophy encourages students to adopt a critical perspective on financial accounting, and she organizes the Qualitative Accounting Research Symposium annually, hosted by her university in collaboration with York University.
