Professor Dr. Daniele Avitabile

Biography

Daniele Avitabile is a professor of mathematics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he is also a member of Inria's MathNeuro Team. His research focuses on spatio-temporal patterns in biological and physical models, employing various numerical and analytical methods. Avitabile has published extensively in the field of mathematical neuroscience and serves as the editor-in-chief of the SIAM series on Mathematical Neuroscience. His expertise includes numerical bifurcation analysis, mathematical neuroscience, multi-scale dynamics, numerical methods, localized states, coherent structures, nonlinear media, reaction-diffusion systems, and nonlocal models. He is actively involved in advancing the understanding of complex systems through rigorous mathematical frameworks.
