Biography

Daniele Bertolini is an Associate Professor in the Department of Law and Business at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. He has been a visiting scholar at the Department of Accounting and Law at the University of Stavanger, Norway. He joined Toronto Metropolitan University in August 2015, having completed post-doctoral research at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. Bertolini holds degrees in Law, including an LLB from the University of Pavia and an LL.M. from the University of Illinois, a SJD from the University of Toronto, and a PhD from the Institute for Advanced Studies of Pavia. His research interests lie at the intersection of economic and philosophical approaches to law, with particular emphasis on contract law and environmental law. His work has been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada and published in several prestigious law journals, including the McGill Law Journal and the Osgoode Hall Law Journal. Bertolini received the TRSM Research Recognition Award in 2021 and won the Annual McGill Law Journal Essay Contest in 2022. He has presented his research at numerous international conferences and workshops, contributing significantly to discussions on good faith in contractual performance and the economic analysis of law.
