Dr. Danielle Deveau

Biography

Danielle Deveau is an Associate Professor in the Teaching Stream at the University of Waterloo, specializing in English Language Literature. She has a diverse educational background with a PhD from Simon Fraser University, an MA from Ryerson University, and a BA from the University of Alberta. Having grown up in the small town of Hay Lakes, Alberta, Danielle has moved across Canada from Edmonton to Toronto, and Vancouver before finally settling in Kitchener with her family five years ago. Her teaching focuses on academic and technical communication, as well as media and cultural studies. Her research interests include critical cultural mapping, cultural scenes, and urban design, particularly within the context of Canadian popular culture and media. She has made significant contributions to the fields of cultural policy, design thinking, and user experience design through her work in urban economic development and cultural mapping.
