Biography

Danielle Geller is a writer focusing on personal essays and memoir. She authored the book, Dog Flowers (One World/Random House, 2021), which was a finalist for the BC Yukon Book Prizes’ Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize and the Jim Deva Prize for Writing. Her essays have been published in various well-known outlets including Maisonneuve, Guernica, Paris Review Daily, New Yorker, and Brevity, and have been anthologized in collections such as Sharp Notions: Essays Stitching Life and Lyric Essay Resistance: Truth Margins. Geller received her MFA from the University of Arizona and teaches creative writing in the low-residency MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts. She is a member of the Navajo Nation, specifically the Tsi’naajinii clan, and has a multicultural background, being born bilagaana.
