Biography

Danielle Reifsnyder Hickey is an Assistant Professor at the Eberly College of Science, specializing in Chemistry and Materials Science Engineering. Her research interests lie at the intersection of materials science, nanoscience, and materials microscopy. She has a diverse academic background including a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Culture from Duke University. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota focusing on Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. Her work has contributed significantly to the understanding of semiconductors, particularly in the study of topological insulators and the behavior of nanostructures.
