Biography

Danielle C. Struble-Fitzsimmons is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. With over 20 years of experience in patient care and healthcare leadership, she has worked extensively in both outpatient and inpatient settings in the New York/New Jersey area. Her teaching focuses on clinical education and she has presented at various local, state, and national conferences on topics related to lymphedema management, cardiopulmonary dysfunction, and mental health. Danielle has also been involved in several quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of physical therapy services and promoting interprofessional practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science, Master of Physical Therapy, and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from the University of Scranton, graduating with honors, and completed her PhD in Health Sciences at Seton Hall University with a specialization in Movement Science. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she is a certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Lymphology Association of North America. Her recent research interests include cardiopulmonary dysfunction, integumentary disorders, lymphedema, and innovative teaching methods in physical therapy education.
