Dr. Daniil Yurchenko

Biography

Daniil Yurchenko graduated from Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic Institute in 1996, receiving BS and MS degrees in Applied Mechanics Control. He got his MSc and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 1998 and 2001, respectively, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, USA. In 2001, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami, USA. In 2005, he joined Saint-Peteresburgh State Polytechnic Institute, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2007 and later became a Professor. In 2010, Daniil moved to Scotland and was appointed as an Associate Professor at Heriot-Watt University. In December 2021, he joined the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research. His research interests include Nonlinear Stochastic Dynamics, Stability Bifurcation, Energy Harvesting, and Nonlinear Vibration Mitigation, among others. He is actively involved in various research projects concerning energy harvesting and the optimization of energy systems using machine learning techniques.
