With a background as a historian, sociologist, and Middle East expert focusing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, my work as a researcher and teacher is driven by an interest and ambition to work across disciplines, enhance the application of analytical skills, and inspire critical thinking. I am motivated to understand the complex connections between historical backgrounds and the mobilization of individuals and religious educational institutions that contribute to the spread of radical thinking and action. My research focuses on Jews who have chosen to immigrate from the Jewish diaspora to the occupied West Bank. Building upon my previous research in the motivations of individuals to join the religious settlement movement, I have now turned my attention to the role of religious educational institutions. These institutions mobilize and socialize individuals to participate in the dissemination of radical interpretations of Judaism that support Messianic thought, which encourages framing the conflict between Jews and Muslims as a religious rather than territorial issue. As a teacher and supervisor, I primarily teach methods and theory. Throughout my research, I have applied life history interviews and field observations as primary research methods, which I also teach. Additionally, I possess extensive knowledge in the fields of theory of science, social constructivism, historical source criticism, and diaspora theory, which are areas I both teach and supervise.
Requirements apply generally to Master's programs across departments including Sociology, Business, and Engineering at Aalborg University.
