Biography

Professor of Neurology and Radiology, and Director of Imaging Technology Innovation at the Mark Mary Stevens Neuroimaging Informatics Institute, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Director of the Laboratory of Functional MRI Technology (LOFT). Received Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and a Master's Degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania. His research over the past 20+ years has focused on the technical development and clinical translation of novel functional physiological Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologies, particularly in noninvasive blood flow/perfusion imaging. He is a recognized expert in perfusion functional MRI with extensive experience in clinical applications related to neurologic and psychiatric disorders affecting body organs such as the kidney, liver, and myocardium. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed publications and 20 review chapters, contributing to the scientific community through the dissemination of arterial spin labeling (ASL) sequences across over 300 Siemens imaging research centers worldwide. His diverse background allows him to work effectively in the multidisciplinary field of medical imaging, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and physicians.
