Biography

Danqi Chen is an Associate Professor at Princeton University and a co-leader of the Princeton NLP Group. She serves as the associate director of Princeton Language Intelligence (PLI). Danqi completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at Stanford University in 2018 under the supervision of Christopher Manning and worked with the Stanford NLP Group. Her research focuses on the full lifecycle of language models, exploring how to build, align, and understand them, with an emphasis on developing methods that democratize their creation and deployment. She has a strong background in computer science education, having received her Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Tsinghua University and also participated in an exchange program at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Prior to her current position, Danqi was a visiting scientist at Facebook AI Research in Seattle, where she collaborated with industry leaders in the field. She has interned at Microsoft Research and participated in multiple research internships at various institutions, contributing significantly to her academic and practical experiences in the field of NLP.
