Dr. Danyang Zhuo

Biography

Danyang Zhuo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Duke University. His research interests focus on datacenter cloud computing and machine learning systems. Zhuo's current work explores the complexities and performance bottlenecks in training large language models (LLMs) and aims to develop strategies to mitigate these challenges. He is associated with the Duke Systems Group and has engaged in significant projects funded by the National Science Foundation, including research on OS-Managed Remote Procedure Calls for datacenter applications and application-defined networking. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Washington in 2019. Over his academic career, Zhuo has published several papers discussing innovations in microarchitecture and the operational efficiencies of machine learning systems, establishing himself as a prominent figure in his field.
