Biography

Daphne M. Beingessner, M.D. is a Professor and Vice Chair of Quality Improvement in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Washington. She completed her Bachelor of Mathematics and Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo, followed by her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Beingessner has undergone extensive training in orthopedic surgery, which includes a Hand Upper Limb Fellowship and an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her clinical practice focuses on the care of upper and lower limb fractures, with particular expertise in treating patients with multiple trauma, elbow injuries, and periarticular fractures. Additionally, her research interests emphasize improving care for patients with traumatic upper and lower extremity injuries and understanding the biomechanics of these injuries. With a passion for education, she has presented at national and international conferences and has authored numerous publications in major orthopaedic surgery journals and textbooks. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Beingessner enjoys spending time with family and friends, weightlifting, yoga, playing piano, and cooking.
