Biography

Daphne Sobolev is an Associate Professor and Honorary Research Fellow at UCL School of Management, where she joined the faculty in 2014. She leads Master Finance modules including the Finance Research Project and Behavioural Finance. Daphne's research interests encompass Behavioural Finance, Mathematics, Ethics, and Judgment Decision Making. She investigates the ethics of financial practitioners and specializes in Partial Differential Equations and Numerical Analysis. She earned her PhD in Psychology from UCL in 2015 and a PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2005. Throughout her academic career, she has presented her work at numerous international conferences, including the Behavioural Finance Working Group Conference and various Mathematics conferences. Daphne has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses at universities in the UK and internationally. Her selected publications include research on ethical judgments in high-frequency trading, the impact of emotions on traders’ experiences in investment banking, and risk assessment in financial series. Her academic contributions to the fields of Behavioural Finance and Mathematics have made her a respected member of the academic community.
