Biography

Darah 'Dolly' Wilson is a dedicated nurse practitioner educator with 15 years of experience in nursing and advanced practice, including 7 years teaching at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from UCLA in 2017 and later obtained a Post-Master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 2021. Her dual certifications uniquely position her to address both physical and mental health needs with a compassionate holistic approach in clinical practice, bringing her expertise into the classroom. Dolly's clinical experience spans emergency departments, urgent care, and critical care transport, where she has managed high-acuity conditions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked tirelessly on the frontlines, providing care in urgent settings and supporting critical care transports, adapting her teaching methods to virtual environments for nursing students. As a Continuing Lecturer at the UCLA School of Nursing, she leads the Fundamentals of Professional Nursing series, emphasizing innovative teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development. Dolly has contributed to major course revisions that emphasize evidence-based practices and inclusivity. Additionally, she is a faculty advisor for the Graduate Student Nursing Association (GSNA) and has been chosen by students to speak at graduation events. Outside of her academic and clinical roles, she is the founder of Blossom Med, a wellness practice focused on integrative health and holistic care, reflecting her commitment to empowering patients to achieve balance and vitality through personalized care. A strong advocate for nursing education, she volunteers with the Los Angeles Human Rights Initiative and is an active member of the UC-AFT teaching union, continuing to inspire her community with her leadership and dedication to improving healthcare education.
