Darfiana Nur received a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Gadjahmada (UGM), Indonesia in 1988, a Master of Science (Research) from the University of Western Australia in 1993, and a PhD in Statistics from Curtin University of Technology, Australia in 1999. Following her doctorate, she became a postdoctoral researcher at Queensland University of Technology (1999-2001) and at the University of Newcastle (2001-2003). In 2020, she joined Curtin University as a Senior Lecturer, and she is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on Nonlinear Time Series Analysis and Modelling, Smooth Threshold Autoregressive models, Bayesian MCMC algorithms, DNA sequence modelling in Bioinformatics, and Bayesian Hidden Markov Models. She has published 23 journal articles in high-ranked statistics journals and has supervised several PhD students, Masters, and Honours students. Her teaching expertise includes Data Science, Mathematical Statistics, Time Series Analysis, and Bayesian Inference, with experience in large postgraduate classes.
