Biography

Darin Dolezal is a physician-scientist currently engaged in post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Don Nguyen at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on the metastasis of lung carcinoma to the central nervous system. He completed his fellowship in Cytopathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dolezal has a solid academic background with a PhD from Upstate Medical University and an MD from Cornell University. His ongoing research, supported by an intradepartmental Chair’s Challenge grant, aims to detect driver resistance mutations in pleural fluid-derived circulating tumor DNA from patients with lung adenocarcinoma. He is particularly interested in using an error-suppressed multiplex deep sequencing platform for high sensitivity detection of mutations in malignant pleural effusions.
