Biography

Professor Dario Farina is a leading figure in neurorehabilitation engineering, currently serving as Chair at Imperial College London. He previously held a full professorship at Aalborg University in Denmark until 2010 and directed the Institute of Neurorehabilitation Systems at the University Medical Center Göttingen in Germany from 2010 to 2016. His research primarily focuses on biomedical signal processing, neurorehabilitation technology, and neural control of movement. Over the years, he has authored or co-authored approximately 400 papers in peer-reviewed journals and over 500 conference abstracts. Professor Farina has held significant roles including President of the International Society of Electrophysiology and Kinesiology (ISEK) from 2012 to 2014 and Editor-in-Chief of the official journal of the society, the Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology, as well as the IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering. He has received numerous honors, including the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award and recognition from the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. His contributions to the field have been recognized with fellowships in prestigious organizations such as the European Alliance for Medical and Biological Engineering Science and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
