Dr. Dario Rodighiero

Biography

Dario Rodighiero is an Assistant Professor in Science and Technology Studies at the University of Groningen. He is involved in programs that bridge data science and society, coordinating a minor in Data Wise and teaching data visual literacy within the Data Science Society Bachelor’s program. Dario maintains active collaborations with Harvard University as a faculty associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and is the principal investigator at metaLAB, a research and teaching laboratory focused on the experimental use of digital technologies in the arts and humanities. His research centers on mapping science, exemplified in his work 'Mapping Affinities: Democratizing Data Visualization', where he proposes innovative designs for organizational charts. He further engages with digital cultural archives to explore themes of representation, interpretation, and self-identification through visualization as a method of knowledge design that fosters critical inquiry and dialogue. Dario holds a PhD from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in the Architecture Sciences City doctoral program and has held research and teaching positions at MIT, the European Commission, Paris-Sorbonne University, and Sciences Po. His collaboration with Bruno Latour at médialab has influenced his engagement with digital platforms and tools for philosophical inquiry and collective exploration. He has lectured at prestigious venues such as CERN and Ars Electronica, and exhibited his work at MAXXI and the Harvard Art Museums, which reflects his commitment to public engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
