Biography

Darnel Degand is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at the University of California, Davis. His multimodal interdisciplinary research agenda investigates various notions and manifestations of social success skills and academic achievement across a wide range of environments. He has been a plenary speaker at various conferences, including the California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators Conference and the International Graphic Novel Comics Conference. Degand holds a Doctorate in Instructional Technology and Media from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as Master's and Bachelor's degrees from New York University and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively. He continues to contribute to the field with ongoing research and publications in prominent journals.
