Biography

Professor Daron Shaw is a University Distinguished Teaching Professor and holds the Frank C. Erwin, Jr. Chair at the University of Texas at Austin, where he has been part of the faculty since 1994. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research and teaching interests encompass American Government, Campaigns and Elections, Political Parties, Public Opinion and Voting Behavior, and Applied Survey Research. Notably, he is a co-director of the University of Texas Poll and serves on the national decision team for Fox News as well as various advisory boards including the MIT Election Data & Science Lab and the Annette Strauss Institute. Shaw has contributed to numerous leading journals such as the American Political Science Review and the British Journal of Political Science, and has co-authored several books including "Battleground: Electoral College Strategies, Execution Impact Modern Era" and "Unconventional Wisdom: Facts and Myths About American Voters." His extensive background includes experience as a political campaign strategist during the presidential elections of 2000 and 2004.
