Biography

After completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Darrel Doman moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to undertake his doctoral studies at Dalhousie University as a NSERC PGS scholar. He was a NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow in 2008 and took up his appointment in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dalhousie in January 2009. His research incorporates static and dynamic finite element analysis, constitutive material modeling, material testing, powder metallurgy compaction technologies, and the design and testing of mechanical systems. Doman has also contributed to various scholarly activities, including serving as a journal reviewer and publishing several papers in reputable journals.
