Darren J. Dixon is a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, University of Oxford. He studied at the University of Oxford, where he obtained his Master's degree in 1993 and his DPhil in 1997, focusing on natural product total synthesis under the supervision of Professor Stephen G. Davies. Following his postdoctoral work with Professor Steven V. Ley, he joined the faculty of the Department of Chemistry at Cambridge in 2000. In 2004, he took a Senior Lectureship at the University of Manchester, eventually being promoted to Reader in 2007. In 2008, he moved to his current position at the University of Oxford, where he also serves as the Knowles-Williams Tutorial Fellow in Organic Chemistry at Wadham College. His research interests mainly revolve around the development of stereoselective synthetic methodologies and new cooperative catalyst designs. Dixon is known for his extensive publication record and has received numerous awards, including the EPSRC Leadership Fellowship and the RSC Catalysis in Organic Chemistry Award. He is also the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Cortex Organics Ltd, a spin-out from the University of Oxford.
