Dr. Darren Graham is a Reader in the Accelerator Physics Group at the University of Manchester, where he focuses on terahertz physics and ultrafast laser-based terahertz radiation sources. He obtained his MPhys (Hons) degree in Physics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 2001, followed by a Ph.D. in 2005 on Optical studies of III-Nitride quantum structures. He has supervised nine PhD students and currently has six PhD students working in his group. Dr. Graham has been awarded a prestigious EPSRC Career Acceleration Fellowship to establish ultrafast time-resolved terahertz spectroscopic techniques at the Photon Science Institute (PSI). He was promoted to Senior Lecturer and then Reader in 2023. His research addresses significant challenges in photon physics and accelerator physics using terahertz spectroscopy to probe the fundamental properties of materials and shrink the size of particle accelerators.
Includes MSc in Advanced Electrical Power Systems and MSc in Communications and Signal Processing.
