Biography

Darren Roblyer is a professor at Boston University College of Engineering, specializing in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research is primarily focused on translational diffuse optical imaging spectroscopy, aiming to develop wearable frequency-domain near-infrared spectroscopy techniques that address unmet clinical needs in cancer, cardiovascular disease, and kidney disease. Roblyer completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Beckman Laser Institute, University of California, Irvine, working under Professor Bruce Tromberg. He joined Boston University in 2012, where he has been actively engaged in advancing optical imaging technologies and their applications in medical diagnostics. He has received numerous grants from the Department of Defense, NIH, and other funding agencies for his innovative projects, including work on handheld spatial frequency domain imaging and remote patient monitoring of breast cancer treatment.
