Biography

Darryl Overby earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2002 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the supervision of Dr. Mark Johnson and Prof. Roger Kamm. His research focuses on the mechanisms of intraocular pressure regulation in glaucoma. Following his Ph.D., he spent three years as a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital Boston working with Prof. Donald Ingber in the areas of cellular biomechanics and mechanotransduction in vascular biology. From October 2004 to June 2008, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University. He joined the academic staff at Imperial College London in July 2008, where he continues his research and teaching in the field of mechanobiology.
