Biography

Darryl Pure is a clinical psychologist with 38 years of experience in facilitating group settings clinically, especially in training group formats. He serves as faculty at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, where he coordinates group training in the Department of Psychiatry. Over the last 32 years, Darryl has led 3-6 groups weekly in clinical practice while also managing T-Groups for the American Group Psychotherapy Association. His experience includes supervising and consulting with T-Group leaders, leading T-Groups in both national and international locations, including Northern Ireland and Israel. He is a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association and is a Certified Group Psychotherapist through the International Board Certification in Group Psychotherapy, in addition to being a Fellow of the American Board of Group Psychology. He served as the president-elect of the American Board of Group Psychology and held the position of National Examination Chair. Darryl’s leadership style is characterized as warm, present, engaging, and gently confrontational, emphasizing the value of trust within the group to help members delve deeply and learn.
