Daryl Fourney is a professor and the Director of Research in the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Saskatchewan. He completed his medical degree with great distinction at the University of Saskatchewan and underwent a residency in Neurosurgery at the same institution, which he completed in 2001. Fourney also completed a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He has special interests in brain tumors and complex spinal disorders, and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. From 2003 to 2013, he directed the Neurosurgery residency training program at the University of Saskatchewan and served as the President of the Canadian Spine Society from 2007 to 2009. He has also chaired the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves in 2012. In addition to his academic role, Fourney maintains a busy clinical practice in neurosurgery.
