Biography

Dr. Dave Anderson was awarded a first-class honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow in 1994 and completed his PhD in 1997 with a thesis entitled 'Active Control of Turbulence-Induced Helicopter Vibration'. His career began at SELEX Galileo Sensors & Airborne Systems, where he designed precision pointing and stabilisation controllers for airborne electro-optic systems. In 2001, he transitioned to a role as principal technical consultant in industrial systems and control, which involved providing research support to the Industrial Control Centre at the University of Strathclyde and applying results for industrial clients within the aerospace, defence, and automotive sectors. In 2004, Dr. Anderson re-joined the University of Glasgow as a lecturer in aerospace systems, later becoming a senior lecturer in 2011. His research interests focus on autonomous systems, particularly in the areas of survivability for airborne surveillance, nonlinear sightline control, multi-agent simulation, and platform survivability under attack. He possesses extensive expertise in modelling, simulation, and control of complex systems, specifically in aircraft flight mechanics and integrated control solutions. Dr. Anderson has made significant contributions to both academic research and technological advancements in the field.
