Biography

Dave Clarke, M.D., is a board-certified pediatric epileptologist and the chief of the Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Program at UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences Dell Children’s. He received his medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica, and completed his pediatric training at Overlook Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, in Summit, New Jersey. Clarke underwent pediatric neurology training at the University of Michigan Medical Center and specialized in neurophysiology (epilepsy and sleep) at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. He holds additional qualifications in clinical neurophysiology with a focus on epilepsy monitoring. His primary research interests are centered around the clinical and surgical management of drug-resistant epilepsy. Clarke is extensively published and serves on the editorial board of several peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is a fellow of the American Epilepsy Society and has held leadership positions, including past president of the Epilepsy Society of the Caribbean. His commitment extends to advocating for collaboration between Texas and Caribbean countries in providing care for children with epilepsy. Throughout his career, Clarke has received numerous accolades for his work, including being consistently recognized as one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors.
