Biography

Dave Krop is a full-time Assistant Professor in the Electromechanics Power Electronics group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research interests include modeling, magnetic motors, advanced actuator designs, and contactless energy transfer in electromagnetic devices. Krop patented a linear motor for contactless energy transfer in 2013 and has authored or co-authored 15 conference papers, 3 academic journal articles, and 1 book. Krop earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2004 and his MSc in Electrical Engineering in 2007, followed by a Ph.D. in Electromechanics and Electromagnetics in 2013, all from Eindhoven University of Technology. Before joining TU/e as a full-time Assistant Professor in January 2018, he worked as a Research Development Engineer at Punch Powertrain in Belgium and Vostermans Ventilation.
