Biography

David Albertson is a Professor of Religion at the University of Southern California, recognized as an award-winning teacher and writer. He is the author of five books and numerous articles focusing on medieval philosophy, medieval mysticism, and the philosophy of religion. Albertson received his B.A. in Religious Studies from Stanford University and his Ph.D. in Religion from the University of Chicago. He spent a year at the Universität zu Köln in Germany on a Fulbright Fellowship before joining USC. His research interests include medieval and early modern Christianity, Christian mysticism, medieval and early modern philosophy, the history of Platonism, religion and visual culture, and the philosophy of religion. His recent works reflect a deep engagement with the intellectual currents surrounding these themes.
