Dr. David Bard

Biography

David Bard is a Senior Fellow and Lecturer at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in private equity. He has a rich background in finance, having served as a Partner at Halifax Group, a private equity firm managing $1.5 billion in assets. Before joining Halifax in 2018, David was a Principal at American Securities where he invested across various sectors and served as a Director in several companies. His career began at Bain Capital, where he worked for nine years across multiple geographies. David also has experience as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and is a Ford Fellow. He completed an MPhil in Economics Development at the University of Cambridge as a Gates Scholar. David is also an alumnus of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated summa cum laude in both Wharton and Penn Engineering. He teaches courses in private equity within the Executive Education programs, focusing on investment strategies and value creation.
