David F. Bell is a Professor Emeritus of Romance Studies at Duke University, specializing in nineteenth-century French literature and culture. He has a deep interest in critical theory, literature and science, and the intersection of literature and technology. His scholarly contributions include a range of publications and research that focus on the complexities and nuances of memory within literary contexts. Professor Bell served as a co-principal investigator for various educational programs funded by major foundations, including the Andrew W.
