Biography

David Berezan is a composer and professor specializing in Electroacoustic Music Composition. He has extensive experience in multi-channel composition, sound diffusion, and performance practice. Berezan has been recognized for his contributions to electroacoustic music, receiving numerous awards including the Klang! (France, 2015) and Music Viva (Portugal, 2012). He studied at the University of Calgary, where he completed his BA and MMus in Composition, and later obtained a PhD in Electroacoustic Composition from the University of Birmingham. His research interests include the aesthetics and analysis of electroacoustic music, music cognition, spatial audio, data sonification, and interdisciplinary collaborations incorporating music and modern dance. He currently serves as the Director of the Electroacoustic Music Studios (MANTIS) at the University of Manchester, UK, and has been active in various national and international music projects, including as a participant in multiple residencies across Europe and North America. Berezan's works are published by Empreintes DIGITALes (Montreal, Canada).
