Biography

David Bica is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics and Family Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is board certified in Family Medicine with an additional qualification in Sports Medicine. Raised in Rhode Island, Bica graduated from Providence College and earned his osteopathic medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at East Carolina University and served as faculty and Assistant Residency Director, where he taught residents and medical students. Prior to joining University Orthopedics, he practiced in Rhode Island focusing on spine and sports medicine. Bica holds leadership roles as the President of the Education Committee and Chairman of the Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians, as well as the Secretary of the Rhode Island Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. His research interests include sports medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, and diagnostic ultrasound techniques for musculoskeletal conditions.
